Always wish you could dress your lil’ lambikins in L.A.M.B.? Well, wait no more, because everyone’s favorite high-jumping, Brit rocker-loving, ska-singing, washboard ab-rocking, L’Oréal Paris-representing fashionista (that would be one Gwen Stefani, in case you’ve been asleep for the past 15 years) has just collaborated with Target on Harajuku Mini – a children's collection, based on her Harajuku Lovers line that is so adorable (and affordable - with all clothing priced under $30) as to be B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
Said Stefani, recently, “I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the super-cute and playful kid’s clothing you find in Japan.”
Personally, I’m a huge proponent of kids being able to show their true colors (and patterns) via their clothing choices as a non-verbal means of self-expression. I know I did (although the Brit-Punk look didn’t really figure into my pre-teen look so much as the navy blazer and tie that construed my school uniform).
Gwen must agree, since she opined that “The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed.”
Granted, if I was living in this commercial, with these clothes, I’d probably have looked forward to getting ready for school, more than I did. Well, maybe not…
Meanwhile, I’m buying Jacob a set of the luggage tags. They’re just too fierce.
