We’re back, talking about PoshBurger Bistro, and I’ll get to the food in a bit, but first let’s sort through the miscellany.  The décor is welcoming; with long communal tables (made from sturdy woods) that transect the restaurant.  Three rows and each row split into three sections (for ease of serving).  It reminded me of a nouveau Carnegie Deli (but with much nicer tables – like you’d find in Portland or the Bay Area).  There’s an exposition kitchen, an intimate bar serving an array of beers and wines, and an entire wall painted white that the PBB folks plan to use as a large screen, upon which they can play old movies.  Nothing too fancy – but definitely inviting.

Now, let’s talk turkey – or in this case, Turkey Burgers.  The food – without exception – was delicious.  Everything we tried, we loved.  From the amuse bouche (seriously…  In a burger joint…) of Salmon Rillette (with lemon cream, watercress salad, capers, and onion) and the Caesar Salad (baby coss, Scotch egg, shaved Parmesan, and sourdough croutons); to the trio of Salmon Sliders and the Spicy Buffalo Wings with Creamy Bleu Cheese Dressing (that were among the best either of us has ever had – simply enormous, tender, but still lightly crispy, and served “popcorn” style); all of our starters were noteworthy; and we devoured them.

We also took advantage of the restaurant’s Raw Juice bar.  Jacob had the Freshly Squeezed Carrot Juice with Fresh Ginger (“It’s fresh.  It’s carroty.  It’s got ginger.  I like it!”), whilst I opted for the Freshly Squeezed Granny Smith Apples with Fresh Lime (to which the chef added a splash of Fresh Cucumber Juice to temper the bitterness of the apples – to great effect).

Now came the big stuff.  Jacob (being far more heart-smart than I) ordered the Turkey Burger (watercress, balsamic-grilled Portobello mushrooms, and avocado with chipotle aioli on brioche), and I got the Black Angus Burger (confit tomato, red onion marmalade, and arugula with truffle aioli on brioche).  Both of us were ooo-ing and ahhh-ing so much we made an almost obscene spectacle of ourselves.

The sides were just terrific.  We tried the Skinny Fries (truffle aioli and Parmesan) and the Crispy Onion Rings.  Decadent…  And neither too soggy, nor too oily.

And then there was dessert.  By this time we were pretty stuffed, but for you, Darling Readers; for you we soldiered on.  First was the Chocolate Chip Brownie (with Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip ice cream).  This might be one of the most rich and decadent desserts anywhere.  You know those dishes that you eat and think (“Note to Self: Don’t forget Thursday’s angioplasty!”)?  Well this is one of those.  But the three or four (okay, eight) bites I had were transcendent.  The Mango Upside-Down Cheesecake (with chili, cilantro, and Mango sorbet) was delicious, and served in a glass, like a parfait.  It was tropical and fruity, without being too much so.  Finally, was the Duck Egg Crème Brûlée.  If you prefer the brûlée to the crème (as I do) then this is the dessert for you.

And while a lot of this may sound a bit hifalutin, the ambiance reminds that it’s really just a nice neighborhood place to take friends or family.  And as Las Vegas grows, and suburbia expands, we need as many restaurants like PoshBurger Bistro as we can get.
