Flautas at T&T

Most Mexican restaurants in these parts are pretty cookie-cutter.  Some are more “authentic” than others, to be sure; but, for the most part, it takes a bit of flair to stand apart from the crowd. 

Guacamole at T&T

This is one of many reasons why Jake and I are particularly fond of Tacos & Tequila at Luxor Hotel & Casino.   The place has style and substance.  Sure, the atmosphere is always festive, they pour a great cocktail, and it’s easily accessible from our house – but what really makes T&T rise above the many Mexican restaurants in Las Vegas (besides its second story location) is the contemporary décor and the exceptionally good food. 

Habanero Wings at T&T

When you’ve got a guy like Chef Richard Sandoval creating your menu, you know you’re in for something special.  For Pete’s sake, Bon Appetit doesn’t just call any Juan, Dick or Harry “Restaurateur of the Year” (as they named Sandoval, in 2006). 

Fiesta Nachos at T&T

The food is fresh, flavorful, and never fails to please.  The Mariachi Brunch on Sundays is a treat, and is attended by as many locals as tourists.  But wait – there’s more! 

Chicken Quesadilla at T&T

Now, T&T is introducing its $5 Happy Hour Menu.  The list of $5 libations – including Dos Equis Lager, shots of José Cuervo, well drinks, house wine, and sangria – is one thing; but it’s the $5 Fiesta Nachos, Habanero Wings, Guacamole, Chicken Quesadilla, and Flautas that make me want to shout “¡Ho-lay mole!”
