When it came time to establish the concept for Fred Segal JEWELS, at the SLS Las Vegas, Leor Yerushalmi and his family (parents Vicki and Mordechai have owned and operated The Jewelers of Las Vegas, for nearly forty years; with their children Benny, Leor, Elad, and Natalie coming on board as they completed their respective educations) had a simple vision. 

“We really wanted to put together a store that was strictly focused on fashion-forward styles and jewelry, geared more toward the hip Hollywood crowd,” says Yerushalmi, “with a focus on sexy designs that cannot be found everywhere.”

Recognizing that any store is only as strong as the vendors it purveys, the Yerushalmis have filled the boutique with an array of designers from across the US and abroad.  The fabulous Anita Ko, Liven Cº, Zoë Chicco, and the mother-daughter team that is Shay, are all out of Southern California.  New York is in the house, thanks to strong showings from Mizuki, Parulina by the talented Parul Kuki Seth, Nicholas Liu, and StingHD.  And Europe is represented by a trio of designers – bracelet weaver Astley Clarke (London), horologist SevenFriday (Zurich), and mistress of the “passion cuff” Efva Attling (Stockholm). 

According to Yerushalmi, “So far, Liven, StingHD, Astley Clarke, and Anita Ko have been moving very well.  Now, into this mix, we’ve added timepieces by SevenFriday; which we feel will be a huge homerun with the Fred Segal JEWELS customer!”

Some of my favorite items available at Fred Segal JEWELS include StingHD’s double-strand stingray cuff with gold and diamonds; Anita Ko’s Double-Fan earrings in 18k rose gold with 1.7cts of diamonds (the fans separate, and are worn simultaneously in front of and behind the earlobes); and the White Shark Tooth necklace (also by Anita Ko), featuring a pendant consisting of a genuine shark tooth, surrounded by a frame of pavé white diamonds (0.91cts), suspended from a chain of 18k rose gold.
