As their reputation grew, their website, OlioAndOlive.com evolved into a one-stop gourmet shop for highly specialized Italian foods – ranging from Prosciutto San Daniele and artisanal pastas to 20-year aged DOC balsamic vinegar and cheeses made from the milk of cows, goats and sheep; as well as hard-to-find specialties including fresh truffles, olives from Castelvetrano (in the Sicilian province of Trapani), bottarga (the roe-pouch of grey mullet, tuna or swordfish) and guanciale (un-smoked Italian bacon made from pig’s jowl that is an Umbrian delicacy).
