It’s an exciting time, for Mulberry - that British lifestyle-brand established in 1971 by Roger Saul and his dear mum, Joan.  Best known for their handbags and small leather goods, the company has just opened its first Las Vegas boutique, at the posh Forum Shops at Caesars.  They’ve also been taking the fashion-world by storm – first with last fall’s debut of the Cara Delevigne Collection that’s got tout la monde all hot n’ bothered;  and now with the short dance film, Cressida Bonas and the Buttercup Dress, that positively flows with the blithe vibe of the SS15 collection.

To celebrate the flim and the recent opening, Mulberry teamed-up with local stylistas Audra Baldwin and Stella Roy, to throw an intîme luncheon and shopping party; with a percentage of the afternoon’s sales going to benefit Nevada Ballet Theatre.

In addition to Store Director, Allan Calderon, Mulberry USA was adroitly represented by Johanan Merino (Director of Marketing), Elizabeth Reid (Vice President, Marketing and Communications) and Carl Barbato (President); while NBT’s Beth Barbre (Executive Director), Jenn Kratochwill (Director of Public Relations), and Phil Hooper (Director of Special Events) were all in the house, for the Ballet.

Hats-off to Shiraz Events, for producing a beautiful affair; highlighted by a delicious lunch, at a simply gorgeous table – designed with a nod to Mulberry’s celluloid spring-fling.  Guests were served a colorful Salad of Haricot Vert, Fava Bean, and Salanova Lettuce (with Goat Cheese, Radish, and Herbed Champagne Vinaigrette); followed by their choice of Spring Chicken Pot Pie (with Fresh Peas, Tri-colored Carrots, and Fennel, with Fresh Tarragon and Whole Grain Mustard), Arugula-Lemon Pesto Salmon (with Sauteéd Zucchini Spirals), or Quinoa-Beet Cakes (served with Peppery Sauteéd Kale and Avocado Mousse).  I’ll let y’all guess which I selected…

As the event drew to a close, guests set-off on a shopping bonanza, fueled by a trio of desserts, including a Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble, Goat Cheesecake Bites (with Blueberry Hibiscus, and Lemon Zest), and these absolutely scrumptious bite-sized Chocolate Pots du Crème.

At the end of the day, I was most delighted to have learned about Mulberry’s commitment to Las Vegas, and its dedication to support our community.  That, and the way they hand-cut the “scales” on intricately embossed leather to create their “Silky Snake Print” (while the company uses genuine crocodile and ostrich skins, they forsake the use of python for ethical reasons).  It’s all quite impressive.
