Knowing that April was going to be very busy, Jacob and I decided to celebrate my birthday by spending a week in Austin, visiting with my Mom.  Now for those of you who’ve never had the pleasure, my mother is a true eccentric.  One thing she has never truly grasped, however, is technology.

So, while I brought my laptop with me to Texas, in order to keep abreast of my posts to ShulmanSays, I neglected to bring the necessary USB cord to upload the images I’d taken.  And asking my Mom if she had any extra USB cords (which translated to “one of those cord thingies with the wide metal tips on the end”) – well, you can imagine how far that got me.

As Jacob said “She’s got the best of everything: the newest LED televisions, and keychain fobs for the alarms and garages; but when it comes to her computer, it’s so old you can almost hear the hamster running on its wheel!”

Why do you care?  Well, for one thing, I’ve been unable to post any image-centered articles to ShulmanSays.  While the fault for this most certainly lies with me, it’s ever so much more fun to blame it on my mother’s ludditism.  And for another, it’s a way to let you know that in the next week you can look forward to posts about the upcoming Opportunity Village In the Mood event, a look back at the Flair for Care luncheon and VEGAS Dozen events, and a follow-up about my Beauty from Above opening (that is still on display at The Living Penthouse, and can be viewed by appointment).

Stay tuned, because May is going to be bigger and better than ever, starting with T&T’s Cinco de Mayo party, CHiPS and Salsa: Part Dos!

Get into it!
