The cast of ABC's Happy Endings

Laughing is arguably one of my favorite things to do.

I don’t mean that to sound particularly profound, because it’s not; but there’s just something about deep hearty laughter that I find to be a dragon well worth chasing.  (It worked for Mary Poppins' Uncle Albert, you know..!)

One might even refer to it as “amahzing” – if one happened to be using the lexicon of Casey Wilson as “Penny” on the ABC comedy, Happy Endings.

The former Saturday Night Live funny-woman is part of an ensemble cast on the Wednesday night sitcom that returns tonight for its second season, in the enviable slot after Emmy-winner Modern Family, on ABC.  The show centers around six friends who are all interconnected, and while some critics have compared it to a contemporary version of Friends, set in the Second City, I’m not sure that’s really such a bad thing?

It’s goofy, fun, well written, and unabashedly quirky.  But the best thing about Happy Endings is how much fun the cast seems to be having; as if it’s a really fun party and they just want you to join them.  And thus, “amahzing” isn’t so far off-base, at all.
