PHILANTHROPY:
Opportunity Village is presenting the inaugural HallOVino event, at the Magical Forest, on Wednesday, October 28th.  Admission includes hors d’oeuvres and wine samplings, riding the Forest Express train and Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, throughout the evening – as well as a pair of tickets to OV’s Magical Forest through the 2015 season.  Click HERE for information.

Communities In Schools of Nevada’s 5th annual Harvest for Hope is going-down at the Sports Center of Las Vegas, on Friday, October 30th – and this year, it’s a Monster Bash!  Come for the live and silent auctions, live music, games and activities, and the culinary village, presented by the award-winning restaurants of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, it’s no wonder that this annual affair is billed as “Las Vegas’ premier family-friendly affair” (which is why it goes from 5-9pm).  Click HERE for information.

Meanwhile, over at The Center (serving the LGBTQ Community of Nevada, and its Allies), check-out CENTERPIECE, the Queer Arts & Culture Series.  Before Jenner, There Was Jorgensen is a look back, at the history of Las Vegas’ transgender community, presented in conjunction with the Nevada State Museum and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.  The exhibit about Christine Jorgensen (the first nationally-known transgender American) who performed as a singer and actress in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York; runs through the end of November.  Click HERE for information.

Lucky Foo’s is hosting their Saints & Sinners Halloween Costume Party, on Thursday, October 29th, from 7pm – midnight.  This party is being thrown as a supper-club, so dinner service will go until a certain time; but the spooktacular evening will continue until dawn.  There will be special guest DJs, food and drink specials, and a fabulous costume contest.  And remember – sometimes in Sin City, it’s the saints who win…  Reservations are strongly suggested.  Click HERE for information.

Hakkasan at the MGM Grand is transforming into the Imperial Garden, and it’s gonna be fierce!  There’s a $20,000 Sexiest Costume Contest on Friday, October 30th; not to mention a hat-trick of world-renowned DJs – including Tiësto (Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th), Hardwell (Saturday, October 31st), and Steve Aoki (Sunday, November 1st); all of whom were ranked in the upper eschelons of DJ Mag’s annual “Top 100” list.  Click HERE for information.

Down the Strip, at Caesars Palace, OMNIA Nightclub is celebrating the Phantom of OMNIA, with Afrojack (Friday, October 30th), and Calvin Harris with Disciples and Generik (Saturday, October 31st).  The space ship will descend, sexy masked beauties of all varieties will be dancing till the wee hours, and judging by the theme, there’s bound to be a few guys in capes.  (Speaking of which, word around the water cooler is that Harris’ Halloween-look – taking a nod from Caligula – will consist of a golden wreath upon his head, a light dusting of body-glitter, golden gladiator sandals, and a pair of custom-made Emporio Armani briefs, covered in gold-leaf…  Doubt me?  You’ll have to go, in order to find out.)  Click HERE for information.
