This might come as a bit of a surprise to some of you, but I’ve seen Garth Brooks’ show at Wynn Las Vegas & Encore Resort a few times now, and it’s never been anything less than a treat for me or my guests.

Now, the show is being broadcast, live, from the Encore Theater, in Garth Brooks, Live from Las Vegas; this Friday, on CBS.

Brooks is a fantastic entertainer, and (due in part to there not being a bad seat in the entire Encore Theater) conveys a sense of chummy intimacy with everyone in the audience, making for a seemingly interactive experience (even for those viewing from home); whether he’s performing his own chart-topping hits, or covers of the songs that influenced his life and songwriting (including the works of such artists as Bob Seger, Don McLean, Billy Joel, George Strait, Randy Travis, Gladys Knight & the Pips, James Taylor, Jim Croce, and Harry Chapin – not to mention a couple by his wife, Trisha Yearwood).

So, if you’re seeking a bit of Americana to get you through the Thanksgiving weekend, look no further than the Garth Brooks, Live from Las Vegas special, on CBS, this Friday, at 9pm. Giddy-up, y’all!
