Opportunity Village is one of those organizations that is constantly seeking new and exciting ways to make themselves more interactive with the Las Vegas community.  One such method, is a series of events throughout the year that have come to be local favorites.  Quite popular among these is the summertime evening of music known as In the Mood, where the proceeds from the night's revelry is applied to Opportunity Village's Art Enrichment Program.

Not only is well-deserved money being raised by a group who have been instrumental in teaching those perceived by society as developmentally challenged how to live fulfilling and enriched lives of independence and achievement - but guests are regaled with live music and performances by some of Las Vegas' well-known community leaders and philanthropists.  

These gals have traded their ladies-who-lunch twin-sets for rocker grrrl skinny jeans and sexy LBDs.  And while a few of the glamorous silhouettes on stage might be aided by a control-top or a good ol' Spank, the result is fabulous.  Besides, I don't see you up there, shake shake shaking your thing!  

The auction at this year's In the Mood includes the usual smattering of handbags by the toniest of designers as well as some great jewelry and timepieces; but also some more unique items, like an exclusive, behind-the-scenes hard-hat tour of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts given by CEO & President Myron Martin.
