It’s been a whirlwind week on the charity-go-round, and it’s not over yet!
First, on Friday was the annual Harvest for Hope, benefiting Communities In Schools – Nevada. Held down at Cashman Center, with food provided by the restaurants of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, it’s one of the only events of this sort that is family-friendly; and I think that’s great. Also fun is seeing what costumes Susie and Dan Lee have donned, each year (this year’s Lee Family costume-theme was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while previous years have included The Flintstones, and The Hunger Games).
Then, on Saturday, came the amazing event benefiting Keep Memory Alive, down at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health; where Chef Scott Conant whipped-up a scrumptious four-course dinner for 300, after which Grammy-winning crooner, Michael Bublé performed. With only 30 tables, I can assure you, there wasn’t a bad seat in the house!
Next up, is the annual dinner benefiting the UNLV Foundation, where no less a personage than Former Secretary of State (and Former Senator, and Former First Lady) Hillary Rodham Clinton will be delivering the keynote.
But the week o’ philanthropy has got a bit further to go, because on Wednesday, at the home of Audra & Bobby Baldwin, Neiman Marcus will be presenting the Spring Summer 2015 collection from Roland Mouret, at a benefit luncheon for Nevada Ballet Theatre. Mouret is flying into town to personally oversee and style the fashion show, and attend the luncheon.
It may seem like a lot to squeeze into five days, but ‘round these parts, it’s just another week - one you can read all about, over the next week; right here, on ShulmanSays!
