Nevada Ballet Theatre will plié its way into its 40th Anniversary Season with a pair of performances at Paris Las VegasParis Théâtre – an evening  presentation on Saturday, October 29th at 8pm, and a matinée on Sunday, October 30th at 2pm – featuring a wide-reaching program that will incorporate a pair of collaborations with the esteemed Hubbard Street Dance Chicago company.

Dance Dance Dance! includes five pieces, beginning with Bach’s “Concerto Barocco” with choreography by George Balanchine, Lichtik’s “Too Beacoup” with choreography by Sharon Eyal and Gaï Behar, Satie’s “Cinq Gnossiennes choreographed by NBT’s James Canfield with a live accompaniment by pianist Vince Frates, and Mozart’s “Petite Mort” choreographed by Jiří Kylián.  The final piece, UP, is set to a septet of versions of Rogers & Hart’s classic “Blue Moon” (including those by The Marcels, Billie Holiday, and Cowboy Junkies) with choreography by NBT’s James Canfield.


And for those of you who list The Red Shoes as one of your all-time favorite movies, who just can’t get enough of The Dance, then you should look into NBT’s Dinner & The Ballet program, that includes a pre-performance dinner at Mon Ami Gabi, at 5pm on Saturday night. 

The undisputed grande dame of Las Vegas’ art-based philanthropies, Nevada Ballet Theatre will soon be moving into its new permanent home at the amazing Smith Center for the Performing Arts.  Until next spring, though – Vive la Paris!
