Forget the wine and roses: It’s gonna be a day of CHiPs and salsa, when Erik Estrada hosts the 12 Hours of Cinco de Mayo on Wednesday, May 5th at Luxor’s muy caliente T&T (that’s Tacos & Tequila, by the by…).

Miss T&T Hot Tamale Contest

Yes, that’s right – Officer Francis “Ponch” Poncherello of the Central Los Angeles office of the California Highway Patrol will be your guide, as you feast your eyes on (or maybe take part in) such bacchanalia as the finals of the Miss T&T Hot Tamale Contest (with the winner receiving a cash prize of $5,000), Human Rooster Fighting (with cash and prizes totaling $2,500), and a Photo-booth Contest (with a $500 cash prize awarded for el más loco foto).

Mariachi Happy Hour

Get into it from 4-7pm, with the Mariachi Happy Hour, and partake of the $5 beers, shots and margaritas.  ¡Ay, carumba!  (Seriously though – dontcha just love a good mariachi band?)  The rest of the day, you’ll get down to the sounds of the underground with DJ Master of Los Discos.
