I hold the closing of Chef Sam DeMarco’s FIRST Food & Bar as partly responsible for my recent weight-loss.  Now, Chef Sam has his own series on Travel Channel called Chow Masters, and regular viewing might just plump me back up, again.

In this new series, Chef Sam (who still resides in good old El Vee) and his best buddy, Frank (aka Hollywood director, Frank Coraci – whose latest film is the upcoming comedy Blended, reuniting Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler) hit the road to find the yummiest and most innovative comfort food in America.

With new cities each week, their quest takes them "off the map" searching for the three most innovative and delicious twists on comfort food classics.

From burgers and barbeque, to breakfast sandwiches and nachos, these grub-buddies sample the entries and judge which contender will win a $10,000 cash prize and the Golden Skillet award!

New episodes air on Tuesday nights (the series premiered last week); and tonight’s episodes include stops in Austin (tacos!) and San Francisco (mac and cheese!).

ADVISORY: This show should be viewed promptly at 4:21 (just sayin’…)!
