As many political pundits are aware, Manchester, New Hampshire’s Red Arrow Diner, is a beacon on the presidential campaign trail, having been a meet-and-greet spot for candidates wanting to press the flesh in the Granite State

So, when the one and only RuPaul Charles (nattily attired in man-drag) arrived on Saturday and declared “I am not Ron Paul!  And I am not running for president of the United States!” he was met with cheers and applause.  Of course, the Red Arrow was filled to the rafters with the high school students, drag queens, gay activists, and pop-culture fans who make-up the core audience of the entertainer’s critically acclaimed reality series, RuPaul’s Drag Race (LOGO).

This was a terrific venue for RuPaul, who has built a platform on the query “If you don’t love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love someone else?”  One girl, asking for a photo, said “I’m short,” to which RuPaul replied “You’re not short.  You’re perfect.”

In bidding the crowd adieu, RuPaul let loose a revamped version of his trademark battlecry.  “You betta vote!” he declared, after which, he concluded by urging his audience to “Remember, this country was founded by a bunch of men wearing wigs!"  To which one of his fans immediately replied “And heels!”
