No Party Doesn’t Mean No Presents

(04/24/2010)

b-day Neiman Marcus clock

The clock's a-tickin'

For the first time in I can’t tell you how long, I’m not having a birthday party. Now, before y’all start panicking, take a deep breath and relax; because I’m here to tell you that my opting not to have a party is no reason for me to deprive anyone from the joy of giving – specifically, you giving a birthday present to me.  I love presents.  I love opening presents.  I even love writing Thank You notes upon receiving presents (the subject of a whole upcoming post, rest assured).  So please, I insist: Do not let my lack of a party prevent you from shopping the good shop.

bday Tony Abbatangelo
Judge Tony Abbatangelo

Actually, I’ll be spending that evening at a fundraiser for my old friend, Tony Abbatangelo, who is running for another term as Justice of the Peace in Department Three of Las Vegas Justice Court – a position the popular jurist has held since 1996.  (More politicking… Who knew?)  Meanwhile, the event is taking place at Piero’s Italian Cuisine – which is most likely where I would’ve chosen to have dinner on my birthday, anyhow; but still…

In case you’re wondering, the (no so) big night is Wednesday, April 28th.  I’m turning 37.  (Who had the over/under on me even making it to 37?  Anyone?)
