The weather, here in Las Vegas, is splendid (low 80s, blue skies), and people who enjoy entertaining have gotten a hankering to invite folks over.  Such is the case with my friends Lacy and Seth Schorr, who, having achieved the 30-something triple crown (picture-perfect child, dog, and home), love laying-out the “Welcome” mat for friends and family, alike.

Today, the Schorrs e-vited their peeps to attend their “Summer Kick-off BBQ” and their house was buzzing with the sweet sounds of happy children and playful puppies, while the scent of grilled chicken and burgers wafted into the family room from the outdoor grill.  Outside, guests played ping-pong, cooed over babies, rolled-around with dogs, took photos, filmed videos, and in one case, even undertook to chop down a tree!

It was all very Norman Rockwell: Year 2010, only with better clothes and nicer cars (the crowd was certainly more dry-clean than drip-dry; not to mention that two of us were wearing bracelets from Shamballa Jewels).  Special shouts-out to Lacy Schorr’s delicious homemade potato salad, the wonderfully moist chicken breast I was served straight-off the grill, the great chicken tenders (available at Lucy’s Bar & Grill at the Lucky Club Casino), Anthony Spiegel’s Buddha Balm (more on that in an upcoming post), and the always yummy treats from The Cupcakery

Thanks to an ever-changing roster of talent curated by the wisecracking, sword-swallowing Amy Saunders, MISS BEHAVE’S MAVERICKS at the Plaza Hotel and Casino is a terrifically fun and bawdy revue that you can see again and again (and again)!
